The innovation of the TerraCure™ process incorporates known technologies to create an economical alternative and beneficial end use product. The principal elements of the technology are particle size reduction, chemical amendments for contaminant reduction, moisture removal or dewatering, and beneficial use conditioning. The process train will be designed with the flexibility to isolate and treat only the specifically targeted materials such as oil and grease, chlorides and other contaminants contained within the soils and sediment. Level of treatment will be contingent on particle size. In addition, not all of the particles contained within the composite of materials will need to be conditioned for further treatment. Focusing directly on the desired results will reduce the volume of treated materials, reducing the total cost of operations and concentrating mainly on the most contaminated particles.
